What's New

Welcome to Arnos Park Community Orchard!

In late February the Friends of Arnos Park, a  group of local residents from Southgate in London, planted the first trees in a new orchard which has been created for the community to enjoy.

The orchard in Arnos Park was planted alongside herb gardens and fruit bushes while new raised beds and seating were built, all as part of a new community garden growing on the site of an old abandoned playground.

Orchard leader, Alison Lister says:

“The land has been unused for over five years, encouraging litter and drug use. The new orchard will bring the community closer together and create a space that everyone can enjoy.
It will be a great educational resource for the local schools and leave a legacy for future generations.
We are very grateful to our wonderful group of volunteers, and Helping Britain Blossom for helping to make this happen.”

The orchard and garden will create a beautiful outside space that local people can relax in, enjoy and share together, whilst also enhancing the biodiversity of the area, with a little help from some soon to be installed beehives.

We look forward to watching this community garden grow!
