Leeds Orchards Live

Event Date: 14 Jan 2017

We’re celebrating Leeds’ growing orcharding culture at Leeds Orchards Live on 14th January, this is the event for anyone interested in community orchards in Leeds or LS postcode areas.

We’ve got £3000 to help Leeds’ community orchards flourish – If you are already helping to care for a community orchard you can pitch for up to £400 to help you run an orchard event in 2017 or maintain and improve your orchard.

In the morning we will be hearing proposals from community orchard groups around Leeds requesting up to £400 to help run an orchard event or maintain and improve their orchard.
Community orchard groups will have 5 minutes to convince the audience that they deserve a share of the £3000 on offer. The winning groups will be decided by audience vote on the day.

If you are part of an existing community orchard group and would like to pitch on the day you can find all of the details here.

If you are interested in starting a community orchard come along to meet people already doing it and hear their ideas and experience.

In the afternoon we will be learning from experts with great ideas to make orchards and the city more fruitful. This will include a showcase of what Abundance groups are doing with with gluts of unwanted fruit, a talk from Moss Cider, a grafting workshop and loads more.

Go here for all of the details on talks and workshops, and book your ticket now!
