Celebrate Apple Day across Leeds

If you’re based in Leeds and the surrounding area you have no excuse not to get involved in some Apple Day activities this October.

From apple juicing and cider making to longest peel competitions and apple bobbing there really is something for everyone!

We’ve collated everything that the Community Orchards of Leeds have to offer in a handy booklet that you can download here.

The fun kicks off this Saturday at the Farsley Community Orchard Apple Day, 2-5pm, at Farsley St John’s Church Hall with apple juicing and apple crafts.

You can find out more about Farsley Community Orchard’s first Apple Day here.

We’ll be sharing our knowledge of Leeds community orchards at the famous Light Night in our illuminated pop-up orchard!
Come and find us on Friday 7th October, 6-10pm, at the top of Briggate making fresh apple juice on this special night in the city centre.

You can find out more about Light Night here.

We’ll see you at a community orchard near you soon!

Why Orchards Orchards have played an important role in our communities for hundreds of years, providing a communal space for gatherings and celebrations. Find an Orchard Our ambition by 2017 is to help 100 communities to plant, care for and restore their own orchards. And to get things going, we're focusing on cities and towns in seven parts of the UK
